How much military aid has Biden sent to Ukraine?

Before Joe Biden entered office, Congress approved the fiscal year 2021 omnibus spending bill, which authorized a little over $400 million in military aid to Ukraine for that year. Biden began adding to that total last August before dramatically ramping up military aid after Russia’s invasion by using executive powers and approving regular and supplemental funding bills passed by Congress.

Over the last six months, the pace of new weapons shipments has been relentless—it seems like every week there’s an announcement from the Pentagon, State Department, White House, or all three about the latest military aid package. For that reason, everyone seemed to have lost track of how much the US has committed to conflict. That’s why I put this estimate together.

So far, Biden has approved $40.13 billion in military assistance for the conflict in Ukraine from August of last year through August 2022—about $110 million per day, on average.
